TomTom adds live video to LBS Platform

TomTom has added live video footage from TrafficLand’s network of over 13,000 roadside traffic cameras to its Location Based Services (LBS). The addition of the TrafficLand Traffic Camera API (Application Programming Interface) will allow developers to add live video footage of actual traffic situations in the USA, UK and Canada to their cell phone or internet applications, giving their end users an improved and more relevant experience. TomTom’s advanced cloud-based LBS Platform allows developers easy access to high-class map content and software services. The platform provides developers with everything they need to create location-enabled applications for consumer, enterprise and governmental markets. The LBS Platform also offers a Global Geocoder internet service for batch and online geocoding in 52 countries worldwide.
TrafficLand provides live traffic camera video feeds that cover over 200 cities.
