In releasing its financial results for the full year 2013, TomTom gave
some indications about the decline of the Personal Navigation Device
(PND) market in Europe and North America.
Per TomTom data, the PND market size in Europe (17 countries: AT, CH, DE, BE, NL, FR, IT, GB, ES, PT, TR, CZ, PL, DK, SE, FI, and ZA) equalled 8.4 million units in 2013, 14% lower compared to 2012.
The PND market size in North America equalled 5.4 million units in 2013, 26% lower compared to 2012.
In the Fourth quarter 2013 approximately 2.2 million units were sold in Europe and 1.8 million units in North America.
